Newcastle and Canberra Cancelled
Posted By: Mr X Posted On: October 5, 2007 | 10:15 am
Friday October 5, 2007
For Immediate Release

Canberra and Newcastle Concerts by Darren Hayes cancelled on technical grounds

Due to venue size restrictions relating to the dimensions of essential stage pieces, and the limitations of load-in spaces , Darren Hayes’ production team has had to cancel the concerts scheduled for the Newcastle Civic Theatre on Tuesday October 16 and Canberra Theatre on Sunday October 21

Obviously disappointed, Hayes’ manager said, “We’ve created a world class show based around some extraordinary set pieces, and having just finished a tour through the UK, we found that physically getting the set into some venues is impossible. It’s disappointing to have to cancel these two shows but we also wouldn’t want Australian audiences to experience a radically scaled down version of this production’.

Having just finished the last night of the UK leg of the tour at a triumphant sold out show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, Hayes extended his apologies to those who were planning on attending the Canberra and Newcastle shows.
“When you see the full show you’ll understand why our production team had to make this difficult decision. I do hope those people who are inconvenienced can try to make it to Sydney to see the show as it was designed and I’ll make it up to you on stage”.

The Time Machine Tour, designed by Willie Williams (U2, Rolling Stones, George Michael), will continue through Perth October 13, Sydney October 17, Adelaide October 20, Melbourne October 24 and Brisbane October 25.

The album ‘This Delicate Thing We’ve Made’ is out now.
The single ‘Me, Myself and I’ is out November 3.
